MIRI, Dec 7: The new drive-thru pharmacy at Miri Hospital is expected to make it more convenient for patients and their representatives to collect medication, especially for people from outstation.
During the launching of the drive-through this morning, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting commended Miri Hospital for the innovative idea.
“No more queues and they no longer have to wait for hours to collect their medications; it (long waits) will be a thing in the past, because this new method will help them to gain access to their medication faster,” said Ting.
Also present at the launch were Miri Mayor Adam Yii and Miri Hospital director Dr Jack Wong.
Ting recalled, in times past, people would came all the way from Bakong or Bekenu to Miri Hospital to collect their medication as early as 4am in order to get the queue number.
“They have to endure the long queues and wait hours just to collect their medication. With the newly opened drive-thru pharmacy, it helps facilitate faster dispensing of medicine and improves patients’ satisfaction and convenience,” he added. ā DayakDaily
