KUCHING, May 19: House buyers of Taman Millennium in Matang, a housing project which faced uncertainty after the initial developer was wound up, can breath a sigh of relief as a new developer Millennium Accord Sdn Bhd has stepped in to ensure the completion of the project.

Deputy Minister of Local Government Michael Tiang said the Millennium Accord Sdn Bhd has voluntarily agreed to continue and complete the Taman Millenium project.

“All affected house buyers will be able to get their dream house.

“The Ministy (of Public Health, Housing and Local Government) had organised a few meetings with the relevant stakeholders to find the best solutions to resolve the problem faced by this housing development,” he said in a statement today.

According to Tiang, the project became “sick” after the previous developer Heng Luck Properties Sdn Bhd was wound up by the High Court on Nov 25, 2022.

This resulted in the Malaysia Insolvency Department Sarawak being appointed as the official receiver or liquidator.

The latest development of the project was conveyed to all affected house buyers in the most recent meeting on May 17 which was attended by relevant stakeholders including Public Sector Home Financing Board (LPPSA), the Malaysia Insolvency Department Sarawak, the Land and Survey Department, Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), Heng Luck Properties Sdn Bhd, Millennium Accord Sbd Bhd and legal firms.

Tiang also urged all relevant government agencies both in Sarawak and Federal to give their full support and assistance in ensuring the timely completion of the houses to be delivered to the house purchasers. ā€” DayakDaily
