KUCHING, April 21: Construction of the new access road connecting the southern zone of Kuching International Airport (KIA) is expected to be fully completed by the end of June 2025, with physical progress currently at 92.38 per cent.
The Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak, in a Facebook post today, said the road will serve as a key alternative route linking Samarahan to Kuching.
The project involves the construction of a one-kilometre dual carriageway connecting the T-junction at Stutong to the T-junction at Stampin.
In addition, a 5.2-kilometre dual-lane road is being built from the T-junction at Stampin to the T-junction at Bukit Berangan, along with a 1.7-kilometre connecting road from the T-junction at Stampin to the T-junction at Sungai Tapang.
The project also includes the construction of three bridges spanning Sungai Kuap, Sungai Stampin, and Sungai Sangkoh. — DayakDaily
