SIBU, Feb 4: A man who brought his children with him for a holiday in Miri was shocked to discover that his neighbour had allegedly broken into his apartment.
Acting Sibu district police chief Supt Dr Collin Babat said the victim brought his children to Miri on January 29 for a holiday.
“When they arrived home at 7.30pm on February 1, he found that the living room and bedroom were a mess,” he said.
He also discovered that a watch, a handphone, and a tablet with an accumulative worth of RM1,700 were missing.
“The complainant suspected that the thief entered his unit through a window at the back that was left ajar,” said Collin.
Following a report lodged by the complainant, the police managed to arrest a 29-year jobless man.
The suspect has been remanded for six days until February 9 to assist investigation under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking. — DayakDaily
