KUCHING, July 27: Natural Avenue Sdn Bhd today donated a sum of RM20,000 for the Kuching Festival Martial Arts Display and Kuching Zumba Fiesta, which will be held at the State Hockey Stadium on Aug 12 and Aug 19, respectively.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, who received the donation from Natural Avenue Sdn Bhd general manager Ching Chun Keat, thanked the company for its continuous support of the Kuching Festival which helped defray part of the running expenses.
“There will be 1,010 martial art exponents showcasing their skills and talents. Those taking part will be representing different martial arts styles including Wushu, Taichi, Silat, Judo, Silambam, Muay Thai, Wing Chun Kuen, Boxing, Kuntau, Tempur Tanpa Senjata (ATM) and Taekwondo,” he told reporters during the press conference held at MBKS today.
Wee shared that the martial arts display also aims to promote greater understanding among the people, particularly youths, on the diversity of Sarawak’s culture and cultivate goodwill, tolerance and a spirit of unity.
“I urge members of the public to take advantage of this Kuching Festival Martial Arts Display to the fullest.
“I hope that this martial arts display will provide an opportunity for the people of Kuching to obtain a better insight into the world of martial arts and hopefully develop a keen interest in these activities,” he said. ā DayakDaily
