KUCHING, July 9: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Secretary General Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi commended that the late Dato Sri Dr James Dawos was respected in the Parliament for being well versed on environmental issues.

“Dr James Dawos was well respected in the Parliament for his deep knowledge on environmental issues.

“I will always remember him as a very good friend on mine. He got along very well with other MPs and he will be remembered by all.

“He had done so much for his constituents where he made sure that they are well connected by roads, well provided with water and electricity,” said Nanta in a statement today.

Nanta said like many other friends of Dawos, he was saddened by the passing of his dear friend.

“I am sad that I have lost a dear friend in him. We were elected into the Parliament at the same time in the General Elections in 1999,” said Nanta.

Former Deputy Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Seri Dr James Dawos Mamit, passed away last night around 11.30 pm.

Dawos began his political career as Member of Parliament in the 1999 General Election (GE) when contesting as a Barisan Nasional (BN) direct candidate in the Mambong parliamentary seat.
