SIBU, Jan 11: The Jalan Teku Pasai Siong-Kemuyang road project will not only benefit the people in terms of mobility but also economically, says Nangka ssemblyman Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee.
Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony of the project today, Dr Annuar said that the road will improve mobility for the people, which will contribute to the rapid economic growth of the area.
“This road is important as it will help develop residential areas in Kemuyang with over 800 housing units. To date, about 180 units are ready, and another 400 more will be planned.”
The Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation, and Talent Development said that existing roads are too congested, as well as its soil making it unsuitable for development which calls for high maintenance costs, and that the land in Kemuyang is better.
At the same time, Dr Annuar said the Jalan Teku Pasai Siong-Kemuyang road will bring about significant benefits, as it will allow residents in the surrounding area access to educational institutions such as the international school and the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS).
“We must understand that all these infrastructure projects are the manifestation of an attentive government.
“When infrastructures are well-developed, it will provide convenience, and it will be easier for the people to not only carry out their daily activities but also economic activities,” he said.
Therefore, he urged the people to give their cooperation to the government so that projects can be implemented smoothly.
The groundbreaking ceremony was officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas; Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63, and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali; Sarawak Secretary Dato Sri Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki; Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Aidel Lariwoo; and Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing, and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee were also present. — DayakDaily
