KUCHING, Jan 29: The Social Welfare Department (JKM) and related agencies have mobilised assistance immediately to flood victims in Sarawak, ensuring that they receive essential supplies and psychological support.
In a statement today, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato Sri Nancy Shukri said, “I urge all affected parties to always prioritise safety and comply with the authorities’ instructions.
“To those who wish to help, contributions can be channelled through JKM or recognised organisations.”
She shared that more than 1,097 flood victims are now housed in 14 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) in districts such as Kuching, Serian, Bintulu, Miri, Siburan, Tatau, Bau, and Simunjan. Serian district recorded the highest number of victims with 374 evacuees in six PPS.
