Myanmar national killed in Mukah hit-and-run

SIBU, March 5: A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident at KM36 of the Mukah-Balingian Road in Mukah at around 9.31pm last night.

Mukah district police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau said the 32-year-old Myanmar national, was discovered unconscious by the side of the road by a security guard.

Paramedics from Mukah Hospital pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The remains were later taken to Mukah Hospital.


It is believed the deceased was heading home from a nearby grocery store when the incident happened.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Members of the public who witnessed the accident are urged to contact the nearest police station. — DayakDaily
