Responding on behalf of the Sarawak Premier in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) today, he said all four projects under the Tellian constituency are presently in the engineering design stage.

He was replying to a question from Royston Valentine (GPS-Tellian) on the implementation status of several development projects in the constituency.

Dr Abdul Rahman added that the proposed Petanak coastal erosion control project is still in the process of finalising its alignment and preliminary design, but is also expected to be tendered in the fourth quarter this year.

Meanwhile, the Batang Mukah riverbank erosion embankment project between Sungai Penakub and Sungai Tellian has been finalised for implementation and is scheduled for completion on April 5, 2028.

He further said that once the tender process is completed this year, construction for the projects is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.

“The implementation period for these projects is estimated at 24 months and they are expected to be fully completed by the first quarter of 2029,” he said.

On Rajang Delta Development Agency’s (RADDA) planning to ensure the projects stay on schedule, Dr Abdul Rahman said the agency will conduct regular monitoring with the relevant agencies involved.

He added that no Notice of Change (NOC) will be allowed once the projects commence in order to ensure implementation proceeds according to the planned timeline. — DayakDaily
