On the same day, MPP mobilised its internal team to inspect and assess the situation, with warning notices issued to road users regarding the work scheduled for Saturday (May 3).

On Saturday, MPP carried out the temporary works from 10.30am to 6pm. The scope of work included the following:

  • Laying of base premix
  • Installation of five steel plates (1.5m x 3m x 25mm thick)
  • An additional 50 mm-thick premix layer on the surface

Tan Kai expressed his appreciation to both the MPP team and the term contractor for their swift response and successful completion of the temporary works.

He emphasised that the work was thoroughly carried out under MPP’s supervision to ensure public safety.

He also advised heavy vehicles to use alternative routes to help prevent the road from sinking further. — DayakDaily
