“The upgrading works commenced on Oct 12, 2026, and are expected to take approximately five months to complete, subject to weather conditions and site circumstances,” MPP said in a statement today.

The council added that the project reflects its commitment to addressing community concerns through practical infrastructure improvements aimed at reducing the risk of flash flooding while improving road conditions for residents and other road users.

Meanwhile, the road upgrading project at Jalan Sungai Tengah 5, funded through an allocation from Deputy Prime Minister and Petra Jaya MP Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, was completed on Sept 11, 2026.

The works involved widening the road to address existing narrow and potentially hazardous conditions, improving accessibility and enhancing safety for residents and other road users.

MPP chairman Cr Tan Kai, accompanied by resident councillors, council officers and relevant community representatives, visited the project site today to receive a briefing from the contractor on the completed works.

He expressed satisfaction with the improvements, which are expected to enhance road safety and accessibility for the local community.

MPP also extended its appreciation to Fadillah, other elected representatives in the MPP area and relevant government agencies for their continued support and funding in facilitating the infrastructure improvements.

The council said it remained committed to working closely with stakeholders and the local community to upgrade public infrastructure, improve road conditions and provide safer, more accessible and convenient facilities for residents and road users. — DayakDaily
