KUCHING, April 9: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has called off their Ramadhan bazaar this year due to the Covid-19 situation in the state.

MPP chairman Lo Khere Chiang said the decision was made after holding discussions with his deputy Dato Ahmad Ibrahim, and considering that other councils are also calling off their respective Ramadhan bazaar.

“Dato Ahmad and I have decided to call off the Ramadhan bazaar in MPP. So we are not going ahead with Ramadhan bazaar this year, but I am sure that our Muslims brothers, those who are celebrating Ramadhan, would still have a good time,” he said.

Lo told this to reporters during his visit to the erosion wall construction project site in Jalan Semeba, today.

Lo noted that without the Ramadhan bazaar, Muslims observing the month of Ramadhan can still get their food from other premises such as coffee shops, restaurants, as well as get it delivered to them using the food delivery services available.

“I am sure that our Muslims brothers, those who are celebrating Ramadhan would still have a good times and can make do with what is in the market today,” he added. — DayakDaily
