KUCHING, March 30: A man was found dead after falling into a ditch at Jalan Upper Lanang in Sibu on March 29.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 10.37pm, and firefighters from the Sibu Central station were deployed.
Upon arrival, a motorcycle was found which was involved in an accident, but the rider was nowhere to be seen.
“The operations commander conducted a size-up and instructed personnel to search for the victim using the open water surface technique, but to no avail,” said the report.
Once the water receded, personnel conducted a second search and found the victim at 12.10am near the accident site.
The body was handed over to the police at 1.16am for further action. — DayakDaily
