KUCHING, April 1: A male motorcyclist has succumbed to injuries sustained from an accident which occurred on March 29.
According to Bau district police chief DSP Dr Daram Ruer, at 8.30am on March 29, the Bau Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) received information on a road accident involving a car and a motorcycle at Jalan Bau-Krokong-Seropak.
“The accident occurred when the driver of the car, who was moving from Kampung Batu Spit Krokong to Kampung Skiat Bau, collided with the motorcycle that was exiting the junction from Bau heading towards Seropak.
“Due to the accident, the motorcyclist sustained severe traumatic brain injury with polytrauma and was confirmed to have passed away today (April 1) by medical officers from the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH),” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Those with information pertaining to the accident are urged to contact their nearest police station.
At the same time, road users are advised to be careful when driving, especially with the unpredictable weather, and always to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition. — DayakDaily
