KUCHING, Nov 29: A 46-year-old mother was sentenced today to 10 months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court after she pleaded guilty to dishonestly receiving stolen property.
Marina Kuta and her husband Chong Jun Min, 60, were charged under Section 411 of the Penal Code, and read together with Section 34 of the same Code, which provides imprisonment up to five years or fine, or both.
However, Chong pleaded not guilty to the charge and Magistrate Mohd Syukri Mokhtar fixed Dec 5 for pre-trial case management.
According to the brief facts of the case, Marina and Chong was found to have kept a stolen Honda motorcycle at Ban Hock Road at about 6.30am on July 4, 2019.
Prosecuting officer Nelson Ensit prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.— DayakDaily
