KUCHING, Nov 10: Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) distributed 444 packets of food aid and necessities to the residents of Kampung Haji Baki today.
The state Bomba operations centre in a statement disclosed that relief operations on the ninth day of humanitarian assistance disaster relief (HADR) was carried out from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Led by commanding officer PPgB Asrie Hapit, a team of 10 firefighters delivered items such as laundry soap, bath soap, rice, biscuits, eggs, instant noodles, carrots and onions using one truck and three four-wheel-drive vehicles.
They delivered the items to houses in Block B and C.
At the end of their operations, all personnel underwent disinfection before returning back to their respective fire stations.
Kampung Haji Baki has been under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) since Oct 28 after several Covid-19 cases were confirmed and a new cluster was declared in the area.
Yesterday, Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) extended the EMCO for another week, from Nov 11 to Nov 17. — DayakDaily
