KUCHING, Sept 8: If you have health concerns and want free medical checkups, go to the Kuching Intercultural Mooncake Festival, which will be held at Carpenter Street from Sept 17-24.

The same goes for those who want extremely cheap haircuts.

This is because Kuching Chinese Traditional and Holistic Natural Medicine Association and Maison Monica Hair & Beauty Academy will again be at the festival, which is organised by The Federation of Kuching Division Community Association and the Kuching Old Market Community Association.

The Chinese medicine association’s chairman, Chan Bing Tong, said his members gave out a lot of free medical assistance to the public during last year’s edition, and they would do the same again this year to help the public enjoy good health.

As for Maison Monica Hair & Beauty Academy, their workers will once again hold a RM2 charity hair cut.

Last year, their hairdressers did hair cuts for 550 people, and they are eager to repeat this feat and donate the money collected to the Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA).

Meanwhile, the co-organising chairman of the festival, Sim Kiang Chiok, called on all Kuchingites to join in the celebration themed ‘City of Unity’. The festival will be held from 6pm to 11pm daily. — DayakDaily
