SIMUNJAN, Sept 10: A wild monkey snuck into Simunjan Hospital and created a ruckus this afternoon.

The monkey somehow gained entry to the hospital staff quarters’ toilet, where it decided to sit on top of pipes running along the ceiling.

Four firefighters from the Simunjan fire station were despatched to the scene at 2.54pm.

According to Bomba Simunjan station shift supervisor Jaafar Umar, the monkey was an adult animal, weighing about 4kg.

When confronted by the firefighters, the wild monkey appeared agitated.

“The monkey somehow managed to enter the toilet and sat there. We managed to coax the monkey to leave and it ran back into the jungle nearby,” Jaafar said.

The operation ended 25 minutes later, much to the relief of the hospital staff as the toilet was now safe to use. — DayakDaily
