Puncak Borneo MP says “thank you” to constituents, assures commitment

KUCHING, Feb 1: Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin expressed his appreciation towards the people of Puncak Borneo parliamentary constituency for their support after being conferred with the Darjah Mahkota Wilayah (PMW) which carries the title “Datuk”.

Willie, who is Deputy Minister for Plantation Industries and Commodities in a press statement today, also conveyed his utmost gratefulness to the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah for the prestigious award.

“This title “Datuk” I humbly present it to all the people of Puncak Borneo P.198 parliamentary constituency for their endless support. Without you, my people, I won’t be where I am today.


“I also would like to take this opportunity to convey my utmost gratefulness to our beloved Duli Yang Di-Pertuan Agong for this prestigious award and I am humbled by this noble award bestowed on me. There are no other words I can say but gratefulness. Daulat Tuanku,” he said.

Willie noted, as a son of poor family who has gone through the thick and thin of life, he never would have thought that it was possible to go as far as where he is standing today.

He also assured that he is more dedicated and shall continue to work hard for Puncak Borneo constituency to bring more development and economic growth.

“Puncak Borneo P.198 is none other than my very own people, my home whom I called family. Again I would express my sincere thank you to everyone, state government of Sarawak, federal government and special thanks to our Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in his sincerity to help us, Malaysians without prejudice on race and religion,” he added.

Three other individuals from Sarawak were also listed as the honour recipients, in conjunction with the Federal Territory Day, today. They are namely Sarawak governor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud’s wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib; Deputy Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Ali Biju and Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibolah. –DayakDaily.
