MMEA’s Bombardier aircraft extinguishes part of peat fire in Sungai Adong on Day 3

MIRI, March 30: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) successfully extinguished a peat fire which had engulfed a 5.5 square kilometer area of land in Sungai Adong.

According to Captain Mohd Shafie Paing, director of MMEA Miri Zone, in a statement, the MMEA’s Bombardier aircraft conducted a water bombing operation on Friday (March 29), dropping a total of 120,000 liters of water at Sungai Adong.

“We collected water for the bombing operations from Sungai Kuala Baram, located just 10 kilometers away from the peat fire site,” he explained. — DayakDaily
