Missing Simunjan woman found dead

SIMUNJAN, Dec 12: A 29-year-old woman was found lifeless after she was reported missing earlier at Sungai Batang Sadong today.

State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre in a statement revealed it received a call regarding her disappearance at 8.50am and a team of 4 firefighters was deployed to the scene to conduct a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation.

“The body was found 50 metres from the location of where the victim was last seen,” the centre revealed. It was earlier suspected that the woman might have drowned.


A total of 30 villagers from Kampung Pisang also participated in the SAR operation using five boats. The searchers also included Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) personnel.

The woman was confirmed dead by medical personnel and her body handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
