Two arrested for possessing ‘syabu’ in Serian

SERIAN, Dec 12: Two men were arrested by a team of police from the district Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) for drug possession.

Serian police chief DSP Aswandy Anis disclosed the two suspects were arrested on Wednesday at 12.20am near a convenience store in Tarat Market.

“After a body inspection of one of the suspects, police found 11 straw tubes containing ‘syabu’ with an estimate weight of 1.31 gramme, inside the pocket of the pants worn by the suspect,” he revealed in a statement today.


Both suspects also tested positive for methamphetamine.

They were brought to the Serian district NCID office and detained for further investigation.

“Both suspects were also remanded for four days to facilitate investigation under section Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” Aswandy added. — DayakDaily
