SIBU, Feb 7: A housewife’s greatest fear came true after the lifeless body of her husband was found floating at Tanjung Kunyit, Rajang River today.
The woman had lodged a police report after her retiree husband, 63, failed to return home on Saturday (Feb 5) from a solo fishing trip in Sungai Maaw, Paradom.
Before he left the house at 8am that same day, the deceased told her that he would be home by 12.30pm as he had to send one of their children to the airport.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) disclosed the man’s body was found at 9am at Tanjung Kunyit, Rajang River by a member of the public.
After being informed about the discovery, a search and rescue (SAR) team which consisted of Bomba, Civil Defence Force and Marine Police personnel went to the scene to recover the body.
The body had been handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
