Missing OKU from Kampung Simpok found

KUCHING, Mar 20: The body of a missing 25-year-old man from Kampung Simpok was found today, ending a two-day Search and Rescue (SAR) operation.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue department in a statement said the deceased’s body was found by the local villagers in the nearby river at 10.12am.

ā€œOperation commander reported that the victim body was found about 7 kilometer from the location where the victim was last seen by the local villagers who formed part of the search parties,ā€ the statement said.


The body was handed over to the police for further investigation.

Mac Aloysious Gago, from Kampung Simpok in Jalan Padawan, Siburan, was reported missing yesterday (March 19) after his mother, Tina Simeng, who returned home from the family farm failed to locate his whereabouts, even with the help of fellow villagers.

An SAR operation was launched to search for the victim involving firefighters from Siburan, K9 Unit, 12 PBS and police personnel. ā€”DayakDaily
