MARUDI, April 15: A fisherman has gone missing after he went out to set his fishing net in Lubuk Amam, Sungai Baram, yesterday.
The fisherman, 64, is feared drowned, following the discovery of his boat and personal belongings by local villagers this morning.
The victim’s son subsequently lodged a police report at 1.10pm today.
A search and rescue (SAR) operation was immediately launched by a team of firefighters with one boat from the Marudi fire station, assisted by 11 villagers in four boats. — DayakDaily
