KUCHING, July 11: A 36-year-old man who was reported missing on Tuesday evening was found safe at Marong 2 Estate, Blok Jambatan Besi, Belaga on Saturday evening.
According to a statement from the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Operation Centre, the Search and Rescue (SAR) operation’s team took seven hours to reach the scene.
The incident happened when the man together with his two friends were involved in an accident on the night of July 7 at Ladang Marong 2 Estate, Belaga.
No one was injured in the accident and the missing victim had decided to get out of the estate to look for help.
The missing victim later failed to return to the vehicle and the estate company’s manager together with his two friends went to Belaga Police Station to report the case on July 9.
The SAR team, comprising Bomba members, policemen and the estate workers, found the missing man safe at block 30 of the estate and later carried him out using a stretcher that belonged to the estate’s company.
The victim was then handed over to the police for further action.-DayakDaily
