KUCHING, Sept 20: An elderly man, who was reported missing, was found dead at bushes near Jalan Hospital, Miri on late Sunday morning.
The man, aged 70, had gone to look for vegetables and failed to return home yesterday. His family members attempted to look for him but a hat and vegetables could only be found in the area.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) was then contacted at 11.25 pm and a team was sent to the scene to search for the missing man after a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation was activated.
The police K9 Department’s tracking dog was deployed in assisting the operation and the deceased was found at 11.10 am today 150 meters away from the scene.
The man was later pronounced dead by the medical officers at the scene and handed over to the police for further investigation. -DayakDaily
