SELANGAU, June 4: A 65-year-old man who was reported missing near Kampung Tinting Empari here has been found on the third day of the search and rescue (SAR) operation.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, the victim, Umbu Empaw, was found by two members of the public near a timber camp when the SAR team was making preparations to resume the search.
“The victim was found to be safe and later brought to the Bomba control post at his longhouse at 9.20am today.
“He was then handed over to his family, who brought him to the Selangau health clinic for a check-up,” it said.
On June 2, a distress call reporting the missing man was received at 9.39am, and the SAR operation was mounted at 9.47am that day.
The operation ended at 10.30am today. — DayakDaily
