MIRI, Jan 22: The Police has confirmed receiving a report over the incident of a man jumping over Lutong Bridge on Sunday.
Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said that the report was made by a member of the public who claimed to have saw the man jumping over the bridge while the former was at the area around 2.10pm on Sunday.
“According to the report, the complainant said the man was initially sitting on the edge of the bridge before he suddenly jumped,” said Alexson.
Acting on the report lodged, a Search and Rescue operation (SAR) involving Lutong Fire and Rescue Department, the police, Marine Police and Miri Civil Defence Force was dispatched at 3pm the same day.
Until today (Monday) at 12.30pm, the victim has yet to be found.
Currently, the SAR is still ongoing.— DayakDaily
