Miri police arrest suspected buyer of RM5,000 in stolen aircon compressors

The suspect, believed to be the buyer for the aircon compressors, being escorted into Miri Central police station (CPS) for questioning.

MIRI, Jan 21: Police here arrested a 39-year-old suspect who is believed to have purchased RM5,000 worth of aircon compressors which were reported stolen a week earlier.

He was apprehended around 10am in Riam.


Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted confirmed the arrest.

The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.

The 19 aircon compressors were reported stolen from a premises in Pujut last Tuesday (Jan 14).

Less than 24 hours after a police report was lodged over the missing items, a Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team led by Inspector Fredly Juing detained a 26-year-old local man for questioning.

According to sources, this suspect was alleged to have visited the premises in Pujut and taken away the 19 compressors in a car, making more than one trip. — DayakDaily
