MIRI, Dec 24: A 36-year-old local man was arrested this morning with about RM800 worth of drugs on him.
Officers from Miri District Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) nabbed the man during a raid on a house in Kampung Lopeng here.
Miri deputy police chief Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol said officers found drugs, believed to be syabu, weighing 8.18 grammes inside a black pouch in the man’s left pocket.
“A total of 10 small packets containing illegal substance were found inside a black pouch during a body check,” he added.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspect had bought the drugs via WeChat messaging and social media app.
The suspect has been tested positive for syabu.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.— DayakDaily
