Miri cops seize drugs worth nearly RM2 million, two men arrested

KUCHING, Nov 8: Police arrested two local men and seized RM1,991,700 worth of drugs during an operation in Miri.

Sarawak police commissioner Dato Mancha Ata, in a statement today, said in the operation conducted on Nov 6 at the Miri Airport arrival hall, police confiscated 10,830g of Eramin 5 pills, 4,100g of Ecstasy pills, and 7,000g of Syabu.

“The two suspects arrested are aged 36 and 42. One has previous drug-related records while the other does not.

“Initial urine tests conducted on both suspects turned out positive for Methamphetamine, Amphetamine, and Benzo,” he said.

The drugs seized by Miri police during the operation on Nov 6, 2024.

He said that based on the information obtained, it was believed that the drugs were obtained from Peninsular Malaysia.

He also said that the suspects received RM5,000 each.

“Both suspects are remanded for six days starting Nov 7 until Nov 13 for investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he added. — DayakDaily
