MIRI, May 24: Miri Central Market at Jalan Brooke will be temporarily closed for three days from May 25 to 27 for cleaning and sanitation purposes.
Miri City Council (MCC) which made the announcement in a press statement today, said all stalls and lock-up shops would be affected.
“The sections include all stalls in the Miri Central Market itself, pork stalls, lock-up shops and Miri Open-Air cooked food and drink stalls Section.
“During this period, all stalls and lock-up shops would be closed to general public.
“They would only resume trading on May 28, 2021. The sanitising and cleaning works are being carried out in accordance with the requirements of Covid-19 pandemic SOP (standard operating procedure) compliance,” said MCC.
For the sake of personal safety as well as that of others, MCC reminded all stallholders and the general public to continue practising safe hygiene (washing hands, etc), maintaining social distancing and wearing face masks.
“They (both stallholders and the public) should undergo body temperature screening and ‘check-in’ using MySejahtera App or registration book before entering any markets, tamu and cooked food centre,” said MCC. — DayakDaily
