KUCHING, Nov 16: The ‘Sarawak First’ agenda and proven track record in running Sarawak are indicators of political winds blowing in Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) favour this 15th General Election (GE15), especially in Mas Gading, Puncak Borneo, Samarahan, Stampin, Batang Sadong and Santubong.

Sensing this, political pundit Dato Peter Minos is confident that the momentum in last year’s Sarawak State Election will be carried forward.

“The mood is definitely in the air as I go around. There is a pro-GPS perception on the ground.

“This is due to GPS being able and capable of running Sarawak by bringing in development and doing the right things for the people. Additionally, GPS is fighting all out for Sarawak’s autonomy, rights and interests.

“Most if not all young and old Sarawakians in both rural and urban areas are feeling that way,” he said in a statement today.

This is in contrast with the Opposition which Minos, who is also Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS), said has not given a good impression with their negative rhetoric, being pro-Malaya and disunited and disorganised.

“This sentiment arose because of the years of unfair and unjust treatment to Sarawak by Malaya since 1963. The Opposition is seen as not prioritising Sarawak and her people, and like their name they are doing the opposite, playing to Malaya’s tune and merely engaging in negative politics and dirty tricks against its opponents.

“People can see that and make comparisons. GPS has a strong leadership and relentlessly works to help the people in all possible ways. GPS has captured the imagination and support of Sarawakians,” he said. — DayakDaily
