Minor earthquake strikes near Semporna, Sabah on June 2: No tsunami threat to Malaysia

KUCHING, June 3: A weak earthquake, measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale, was detected 50km away from Semporna, Sabah, at 2.49pm yesterday (June 2).

The epicentre of the earthquake, as reported by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), was situated at 4.4 degrees north and 118.9 degrees east, with a depth of 10km.
