KUCHING, Aug 17: The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC) has unveiled a special tourism package for nurses under the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) who are serving in Sibu and Bintulu.
Its minister, Dato Seri Tiong King Sing, said the package includes round-trip flight tickets from Sibu or Bintulu to Kuala Lumpur for just RM138 as well as discounts of up to 15 per cent for accommodation, according to a TVS report.
According to him, nurses can make bookings using the promo code ‘Malaysia68’, and the booking period is from September 1 to September 30, 2025, while the travel period runs from September 1 to December 31, 2025.
He said this when speaking at the 2025 Nurses Appreciation Dinner in Sibu on Saturday (Aug 16).
Tiong, who is also Bintulu MP and Dudong assemblyman, added that 19 hotels in Peninsular Malaysia and Sibu are offering special discounts of up to 15 per cent for those who book the package.
Tiong also expressed his intention to expand the promotion to doctors and pharmacists serving in Sibu and Bintulu.
At the same time, he reminded healthcare personnel to continue improving their knowledge, skills, and professionalism.
“Even after becoming specialists, the pursuit of knowledge must not stop, especially in the health field, in order to achieve the highest standards of dedication, skill, and compassion,” he said.
In addition, Tiong emphasised the importance of patience, calmness, and courtesy when dealing with patients and emotionally distressed family members.
The event was attended by about 2,000 healthcare workers from Central Sarawak, including the districts of Sibu, Sarikei, and Kapit, in appreciation of their contributions to society. — DayakDaily
