KUCHING, Oct 13: The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (Motac) plans to launch a Muslim-friendly tourism package in November.

In a Facebook post today, Minister Dato Seri Tiong King Sing said this could attract Muslim tourists, especially from the Middle East and China.

“Motac and the Islamic Tourism Center (ITC) will make immediate plans regarding this matter, which can be achieved through the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board (Tourism Malaysia), which does marketing in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe,” he said.

Tiong added that Motac also requests the parties involved to conduct courses and training this month (October), targeting the involvement of at least 200 participants to obtain relevant certificates.

He explained that the course is to provide exposure to tourism industry players regarding the Muslim tourism market to determine appropriate and competitive packages to be sold in the relevant market.

He said Motac is ready to collaborate to develop creative and attractive luxury travel packages such as golfing and medical. — DayakDaily
