KUCHING, Feb 8: The Ministry of Energy Transition and Public Utilities has undergone a name change and will now be known as the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA).
This change was officially approved during a cabinet meeting on Feb 7, following a proposal put forth by its minister, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof.
It said the change is to reflect the true role and responsibility of the ministry in relation to transformation efforts in the field of energy and water.
It added that, it is also to ensure that the aspirations of the government through the functions and duties of the ministry can be understood more clearly by the general public through the new name.
Accordingly, the name of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) will be used officially for all matters related to the ministry. — DayakDaily
