KUCHING, Feb 7: Independent Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How is GPS-friendly and not a Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) member, says its president Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.

When asked about See’s appearance at the ‘Media Night with Dr Sim’ held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) tonight and whether he has applied to join SUPP, Dr Sim said See has been working with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and the Premier on several projects.

Dr Sim elaborated that See is also one of the organizing committee members for the State-Level Chinese New Year 2024 Open House scheduled on Feb 10 at BCCK.

Meanwhile, Dr Sim said SUPP will always open its doors to new members.

“Some choose not to join SUPP while some left the party.

“In See’s case, he is GPS-friendly, and we don’t want Batu Lintang to be left behind. Don’t say that he has joined SUPP, otherwise, we’ll be in trouble legally,” said Dr Sim, who is also Sarawak Deputy Premier.

On Aug 14, 2022, See resigned from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) and became an independent. Since then, there have been speculations that See may be joining GPS through its component party SUPP. — DayakDaily
