KUCHING, May 25: The Ministry of Communications and Digital will launch a logo and theme for the coming National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations on May 27 at Mydin Petra Jaya.
The Department of Information Malaysia in a press statement today said the ceremony, which will be held at 9.30am, will be officiated by Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
According to the department, the launching ceremony will also be held simultaneously at Esplanade, Taman KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, and 1 Borneo Hypermall in Kota Kinabalu (Sabah).
“The event aims to raise awareness among Malaysians that Aug 31 (National Day) and Sept 16 (Malaysia Day) days are important in the history of the country and the formation of Malaysia,” it said.
Among the programmes lined up during the event are a ‘flashmob’ from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Pentarama students, national quizzes and exhibitions by related agencies, health screenings, MySalam, ‘Pusat Maklumat Rakyat’ and many others. — DayakDaily
