KUCHING, Feb 14: Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Willie Datuk Willie Mongin said he would find out the actual cause of the delay of the National Pepper Industry Research and Development Centre (PlLN) project in Semenggok.

He said the project, which cost RM40.1 million, commenced in 2018 and is supposed to be completed in December 2020.

“I will find out from my officers and meet with the Public Works Department (JKR) and the contractor to find out what the problems are.

“The meeting with the contractor and JKR will not be blame game, but to seek remedial actions and be proactive (to complete the project),” Willie told reporters today during a visit to the Malaysia Pepper Board (MPB) field research centre at Semenggok. — DayakDaily
