KUCHING, Sept 24: The increase in food prices will not affect government aid for flood disasters throughout the country.
According to a news report from TV Sarawak (TVS) today, Federal Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato Sri Nancy Shukri said the number of items supplied by her ministry and other government agencies will not be reduced.
“We will distribute the food aid as usual, and it will not be reduced because that is the government’s responsibility,” she told reporters when attending the World Heart Day 2023 event held Pustaka Negeri here today.
She added that usually on the first day (when the temporary evacuation centre is opened) the Disaster Management Committee of the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) will distribute sterilised food packs and arrangements for other items will be made based on the centre’s needs. — DayakDaily
