KUCHING, Jan 17: Minister for Local Government and Housing Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian will be undergoing home quarantine as he came in close contact with a Covid-19 patient.

He disclosed on his Facebook posting today that he was exposed to a positive Covid-19 patient on January 8.

Earlier today, he went for a drive through Covid-19 swab test at the Batu Kawa health clinic to be examined.

“Received phone call from the hospital yesterday evening that I had been exposed to a positive patient on January 8.

“(The) positive patient (no symptoms) first PCR swab on January 11 negative.

“He (the patient) went to swab again on January 15 which turned out to be positive.

“If you pre-book (fast lane QR code), can drive through with the Home Surveillance Order (HSO) in 10 minutes.

“If you just turn up bcos of possible exposure, you need to scan the QR code, fill the details, wait for your turn in the car queue (slow lane),” he said in the Facebook posting.

Meanwhile, it will be the second time Dr Sim is undergoing home quarantine.

In April last year, Dr Sim had also undergone home quarantine after he was one of the close contacts in a meeting in which Assistant Transport Minister Datuk Dr Jerip Susil had tested positive for Covid-19. — DayakDaily
