KUCHING, Jan 17: Some 263 households at Jalan Tabuan Dayak, here are receiving food aids and emergency relief items from Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Bandar Kuching and Stampin Divisions.

Sarawak PKR Women chief Cherishe Ng said today’s flood aid drive was a rushed project in only three days, thus they would come back again next week to reach out to those who were missed out.

“The flood happened on Wednesday and in Tabuan Dayak, it lasted for another two to three nights. We have been working on the ground since Thursday morning, getting the names of the people who were affected by the flood.

“Now I have food aid for 263 pintu (households) but even until now, a lot more who were not registered are coming in.

“We’ll be coming back again next week, to replace those whom we have missed out,” she told reporters at the flood aid drive at a junction of Jalan Tabuan Dayak Lorong 10A earlier today.

Adding on, Ng said each household would be getting one packet of food aid with dried foods, 5kg of rice, half a carton of eggs, one pillow and one mattress.

She also noted the items would be distributed to the heads of each household and by ‘lorongs’ (lanes) to avoid big crowds. The targetted lanes for the drive were Lorong 10, 10A, 5, 9, and 12.

Also present at the drive were Sarawak PKR advisor Datuk Seri Hafsah Harun and former Padungan assemblyman Dominique Ng.—DayakDaily
