“Indeed, Sarawak’s retail banking market still holds much untapped potential,” he said in a Facebook post.

The minister further noted that he felt honoured to witness the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Sarawak government and the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) in Kuala Lumpur on July 19.

“Yang Amat Berhormat Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg expressed during the signing ceremony that once necessary approval processes are completed, they will proceed to sign a Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) of shares in Affin Bank.

“The collaboration between Sarawak and the bank will encompass a wide range of future initiatives, including promoting cashless payments and digital banking.

“Additionally, Affin Bank can explore providing affordable financing packages for small and medium enterprises, contributing to the resilience and sustainable development of Sarawak’s economic structure,” Tiong remarked. — DayakDaily
