KUCHING, June 10: Former Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Youth Central secretary-general Milton Foo has been appointed the new chief of the SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) effective today.
He is replacing Wilfred Yap who has decided to pass the baton on as the Kota Sentosa assemblyman wants to allocate more time to handle and attend to his constituents’ matters.
The handing over of duties was carried out in a simple ceremony witnessed by SUPP president Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian and its deputy president Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin today.
A practising lawyer for 18 years and through his position in SUPP Youth Central and Pending branch over the years, Foo has sufficient experience in attending to problems and issues faced by the people, helping to resolve their issues with relevant authorities and constantly voicing out their complaints.
“Though it will be very challenging, I will do my best to assist the people, especially those who have encountered injustice and unfair treatment.
“With rapid societal changes and transformation, people will be affected in many ways, from basic needs to infrastructure and development. These problems will need to be addressed and remedied,” he said in a statement today.
Expressing gratitude to Dr Sim for his trust in this new appointment, Foo said he will not be alone in this journey with the strong support coming from not only the party but also its 13 elected assemblymen and one MP.
“I will learn from senior leaders as well as organisations and institutions. I welcome any constructive suggestions and feedback from all corners as it will definitely help in achieving our missions and objectives to make a harmonious and prosperous society,” he added. — DayakDaily
