SRI AMAN, July 29: Four houses were completely razed while two others sustained severe damage in a fire that broke out just after midnight at Kampung Tengah, Jalan Setawang.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sri Aman, which received the emergency call at 12.14am, responded swiftly and managed to prevent the flames from spreading to three nearby houses, successfully saving them from destruction.
Firefighters, fully equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE), conducted an immediate assessment of the situation and deployed two hose lines to combat the blaze.
Water for the firefighting effort was sourced from a nearby fire hydrant and the fire engine pump.
The operation concluded after firefighters ensured that there were no remaining sources of ignition and that the area was safe.
The cause of the fire and estimated losses are currently under investigation by the Zone 3 forensic officer. — DayakDaily
