KUCHING, Dec 8: Democratic Action Party (DAP) is not in politics for ministerial posts, says Michael Kong, special assistant to Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen.

Instead, Kong said, DAP would carry on the ‘Team Malaysia’ spirit by not publicly lobbying for ministerial posts like Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

He said since the formation of the Federal government under Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, GPS component parties namely Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) have been busy lobbying for ministerial posts publicly.

“Even after GPS got a whopping five ministerial positions, they are not content and are publicly lobbying for deputy ministerial positions now.

“The first out of the starting line was PDP which was closely followed by PRS. Now, SUPP has joined the race to publicly lobby for such a position,” said Kong in a statement today.

He held that these are all desperate acts from parties and it only goes to show that they are power-hungry. — DayakDaily
