MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning for southern part of Sarawak to last until 12pm

KUCHING, April 26: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several areas in southern Sarawak today.

Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms and heavy rain affect Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Betong, Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu, and Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro, and Matu).

The warning issued at 9am today remains in effect until 12pm.

A warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour or with the bad weather expected to last for more than an hour.

A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hours for every release. –DayakDaily
